Bandits kill Zamfara lawmaker
A member of the Zamfara House of Assembly, Mohammed Ahmed, was on Tuesday shot to death by suspected bandits along the Sheme-Funtua Road in Katsina State.
Ahmed’s death was confirmed by the Clerk of the Zamfara House House of Assembly, Saidu Anka, who revealed that the deceased was killed by the assailants on his way to town.
The PUNCH reports that Ahmed’s funeral prayers would be performed at Sheikh Ahmed Umar Kanoma Mosque by 11 o’clock on Wednesday.
Until his death, the deceased was the chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation.
