Bandits stormed Mairua community in Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing two worshippers and abducting a woman and her daughter during Ramadan prayers.

Chairman of Faskari Local Government Area, Musa Faskari, confirmed the heartbreaking news during an interview with BBC, revealing that the attack occurred during Tarawih prayers on Saturday night.

Faskari recounted the chilling events, stating, “The assailants stormed the home of Alhaji Lado Mairua during the prayers and demanded that he should follow them but he refused. So, they shot him dead.”

He added that a neighbor who witnessed the incident and raised an alarm was also fatally shot by the assailants.

Expressing concern over the increasing boldness of the bandits, Faskari disclosed that this was not the first time Alhaji Lado Mairua’s family had been targeted. “This is the second time his wife will be kidnapped by the bandits,” he said.
