Bandits attack four Plateau communities, abduct villagers
Bandits on Sunday attacked communities in Kanam Local Government Area of Plateau State, abducting several villagers and setting fire to houses.
A source identified the names of the attacked communities as Kukawa, Gyanbahu, Dungur and Keram villages.
He said that many people were killed in the communities, adding that several properties were burnt.
Confirming the incident on Sunday, a resident of Kukawa village, who identified himself as Mr. Adam Musalawa said that many people were injured in the attack.
He added that after the attack, several residents fled their homes.
He said security operatives were not present during the attack, thereby giving the bandits free time to operate.
When contacted, spokesperson of the State police command, ASP Ubah Gabriel, did not respond to calls and text messages sent to him.
