Bandit leader, three others killed as rival gangs clash in Katsina
A local bandit leader identified as Dogo Nabajallah and three others have been killed in Katsina State after a fight broke out between members of two rival gangs of bandits.
The PUNCH reports that Nabajallah was killed inside Dungun Muazu forest located in Sabuwa Local Government Area of the state on Wednesday.
According to some residents in the surrounding communities who spoke under the condition of anonymity, the clash broke after Nabajallah provoked the rival gang by interference in the marriage of a woman.
In retaliation for Nabajallah’s death, his group reportedly raided and killed three members of the rival gang.
A resident further disclosed on Thursday, “Since Nabajallah was killed yesterday ( Wednesday), we have been careful when going to the area for farming. Some of us have even decided not to go there for farming until tension goes down there as the bandits behave irrationally.”
It was further learnt that Nabajallah’s remains were buried inside the forest on Wednesday.
The spokesman for the Katsina police command, SP Gambo Isah had not reacted to enquiries on the incident as of Thursday evening.
