Ayade’s former aide fights for life after attack by suspected political thugs
Suspected political thugs have attacked former Special Adviser Administration and former Special Adviser Sustainable Development Goals to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, Hon Mark Obi.
A family source who did not want his name mentioned confirmed the attack.
He said, “Obi is in a critical condition now after he was attacked in Oku, Boki yesterday (Wednesday) night by thugs. His vehicle too was vandalised.”
The source alleged that the attack may not be unconnected to Obi’s refusal to defect along with the governor from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
The governor defected in May this year.
Obi, a former member of the State House of Assembly, was allegedly in a coma at the time of this report and has been moved from a hospital in Okundi to another one in Ikom where doctors are battling to save his life.
Obi’s wife Justice Angela Obi could not be reached as of the time of this report.
