Ayade’s aide explains why he wrote hilarious resignation letter in pidgin
Abang Ogon, Special Assistant on Student Affairs to Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State, whose hilarious resignation letter to the State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) went viral two days ago has explained his reason for documenting it in a staccato of pidgin English.
Ogon’s resignation comes on the heels of the governor’s recent defection from PDP to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hours later after the governor’s action, the aide reportedly wrote his resignation letter to intimate the PDP about his decision to follow his principal to the ruling party.
While citing his commitment to leadership as his reason for dumping the PDP, Ogon went on to state that as an appointee of Ayade, he is equally committed to the governor’s politics.
In an exclusive interview with WUZUPNIGERIA, Ogon vowed to toe the political path of his mentor and employer.
He also explained that there was no better means to convey his message in his resignation letter to the PDP other than to write it in Pidgin.
When asked about his future plans, Obong had these to say:
“We would stay with Ayade in the rain or the sun. Ayade has always been a good man and we will work with him.”
He further warned the governor’s detractors to beware, he said:
“…to those who think they can take advantage of his good heart, 2023 is almost here, and there will be age declaration, we are waiting for them.”
