AY apologizes to Davido over ‘insensitive’ jokes
Nigerian comedian Ayo Makun, also known as AY Comedian, has publicly apologized to music star Davido for a controversial joke made during an event in Warri.
The joke, which focused on Davido’s personal life and relationships, received widespread backlash from the public.
In response to the backlash, AY took to his Instagram page to issue a public apology to Davido.
He acknowledged his mistake, stating that he shouldn’t even refer to the poorly delivered remarks as a joke.
AY wrote on his Instagram page “I am so sorry for telling that joke the way it came out in Warri. I shouldn’t even call it a joke anymore.”
“ It wasn’t funny like it was during my tour of the US and Canada, and you have every right to be angry after seeing how the blogs used it.”
“Please know that it is always a learning experience for all of us in the entertainment business. I deserve any backlash or negative thoughts coming my way for the joke that was badly delivered in Warri.”
“So, no excuses at all, my Aburo. No reason am. I remain your number one fan, and I love you, @davido.”
In response to AY’s apology, Davido expressed understanding and forgiveness, stating that “Nothing spoil baba mi.”
