Popstar Kylie Minogue has announced her biggest world tour in over a decade, along with a sequel to her comeback album, Tension

The new album, Tension II, which features 13 tracks, will be released on 18th October, and the global tour will kick off in her home country, Australia, in February before moving through Asia and the UK.

In an official statement, the pop icon expressed her excitement, saying she is “beyond excited” to celebrate the Tension era with her fans.

“There will be a whole lot of Padaming,” she added, referring to her viral, Grammy-winning 2023 hit single, Padam Padam.

So far, 20 tour dates have been announced, with Minogue assuring fans that more dates will be added soon.

The 56-year-old is currently experiencing a career resurgence, fuelled by the success of Tension and Padam Padam.

Earlier this year, she won her second Grammy, two decades after her first, and was honoured with the Brits’ Global Icon Award.

Minogue, who first gained fame as Charlene, a car mechanic on the popular Australian soap opera Neighbours in 1986, has since released numerous hit singles and won countless awards. She has also performed at the Sydney Olympics, been awarded an OBE, and appeared in several films.

Fans eagerly anticipate the tour, but there’s some tension around conflicting dates.

The Newcastle leg of her tour in May clashes with Eurovision, which will be held in Switzerland. Similarly, her Sydney shows coincide with the annual Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade, leaving some of her LGBT fans torn between the two events. One fan humorously asked, “What should we do… On a Night Like This?!” in a nod to one of Minogue’s popular tracks.
