Nigerian Afrobeats star Asake is set to take the stage in Chicago on Thursday. He begins the North American leg of his In God We Trust World Tour.

According to Ticketmaster, the Grammy-nominated singer will perform at the Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC at 8:30pm. Afterward, he will take the tour to several major cities across Canada and the United States.

Chicago opens North American run

The Chicago concert marks the beginning of a busy stretch for Asake. He continues promoting his latest album and expanding his international touring footprint.

Following Thursday’s performance, the singer is scheduled to appear at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on August 22. He will then travel to Laval, Canada, for another show the following day.

He will then move to Brooklyn for an August 26 concert at Barclays Center. Afterward, there will be dates in Boston, Columbia and Atlanta.

Asake will also perform in Miami, Houston and Los Angeles during the North American run.

Global tour continues

The tour follows Asake’s performances in Europe earlier in the year. The Nigerian singer continues to attract audiences outside Africa.

His latest run supports his fourth studio album, M$ney, which was released in May.

Asake has become one of Afrobeats’ leading international touring acts. This follows previous performances at venues including Madison Square Garden in New York and The O2 in London.

Toronto, Brooklyn among major stops

The Toronto concert will also feature South African DJ and producer Uncle Waffles. He is listed alongside Asake for several Canadian and American dates.

After completing the North American section, Asake is expected to continue his international schedule. This includes a show at the Accor Arena in Paris in October.

The tour represents another major international outing for the Lagos-born singer. Afrobeats continues to expand its presence across global concert venues.
