Arsenal coach, Mikel Arteta has said that he would like the possible return of legendary Arsenal boss, Arsene Wenger, to the Emirates.
Arsene Wenger spent a total of 22 years at the north London club, in which time the Gunners won three Premier League titles, seven FA Cups and seven Community Shields.
Since the Frenchman’s departure in 2018 however, Arsenal have only managed to win a single FA Cup and Community Shield, with Arteta and his predecessors Freddie Ljungberg and Unai Emery struggling to mirror the success of Wenger’s tenure.
Arteta, who’s side are currently on a 10-match unbeaten streak in all competitions, has said he would welcome the return of Wenger to the club at any time.
He said, “I think he set a different tone at the club and I would like to recover a lot of things that he did.
“I would like him to be more present at the club. I think the players will love him, they will benefit, they will be inspired to have him around. I think for the club it would be a huge boost.
“I always told him [he’s welcome]. Sometimes you need your time. It was so intense for him for over 20 years and you need to get a little bit away. I think it would be so beneficial for all parties to have him more present.”
