Tragedy struck on Thursday when armed robbers attacked a bank at Ofa in Kwara State and killed four people during the operation.

It was reported that the victims included a security personnel attached to the bank and three customers that came for a transaction.

The robbers reportedly carted away an undisclosed amount of money without any resistance from the police or the army.

A resident of the area where the robbery took place said those of them close to the banks were indoors, while some took cover elsewhere.

The resident said heavy gunshots were heard and dynamites were used to open the security doors. He said the operation lasted for over an hour.

Also, a Nairaland Forum member who confirmed the robbery operation through a post shared on the forum said,  NLanders, help me thank God ooooo

“My siblings just came back home. They were on their way back to church and caught in the crossfire, close to Zenith bank.

According to them, no military force confronted the robbers throughout the operation. They used dynamites and crazy guns.

They saw four people killed and they would have been killed because after they finished the operation few of them opined that they should release gunfire on them (my siblings and those close to them), but a man who seemed to be the boss told them they have little time left and had no option than to exit immediately.”

The NLander member further hinted that the robbers burnt some cars and stole some before exiting through Igosun route.
