The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, was reportedly rescued by operatives of the Nigerian Police Force and Civil Defence as armed hoodlums at the main entrance of the Eagle Square, Abuja.
Amaechi who is in Abuja for the national convention of the All Progressives Congress was trying to make his way into the venue of the event.
The Nation Reported that the former Rivers State Governor was stranded for over half an hour due to the activities of the armed hoodlums at the entrance of the venue.
APC’s convention had turned into a rowdy event as hoodlums suspected to be youths, with cutlass and sticks, took over the entrance of the venue, making it difficult for attendees, dignitaries included, to gain smooth access into the venue.
However, it took the intervention of the security operatives to shield Ameachi through the hoodlums.
