American actress Laurel Goodwin dies aged 79
Veteran American actress, Laurel Goodwin, has died at the age of 79.
Popularly known for her roles in Girls! Girls! Girls! and the original Star Trek pilot, died in Cathedral City, California, on February 25.
Confirming the news, her sister, Maureen Scott, in a touching tribute explained that ‘if she knew you, you quickly became family’.
Goodwin’s cause of death has not been confirmed.
The late star was born in Kansas in 1942, before moving to San Diego soon after and then to San Francisco with her family.
It was there that she went on to study drama at San Francisco State and developed her passion for acting, and at 19 years old, signed a contract with Paramount Pictures.
She made her debut as Laurel Dodge in Girls! Girls! Girls!, starring opposite Elvis Presley in the 1962 flick.
