Aiyedatiwa nominates Olayide Owolabi Adelami as deputy gov

Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has nominated former Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelami, as the new deputy governor of the state.

Adelami’s nomination was submitted shortly after the dissolution of the State Executive by Governor Aiyedatiwa.

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan, confirmed Adelami’s nomination and mentioned that the new deputy governor would be unveiled soon. Adelami, a former governorship aspirant of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2020 governorship election, hails from Owo, Ondo state.

Born over six decades ago to the family of Oluka Oribokun by Pa and Mrs Amos Adelami, Adelami graduated from Imade College in Owo, pursued GCE A level at the Polytechnic, Ibadan, and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Lagos. He later obtained an MBA degree from Ogun State University.

Adelami served as the Deputy Clerk to the National Assembly until his retirement in April 2018. The nomination has been submitted to the state House of Assembly for announcement.
