The Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority has said Air Peace and United Nigeria top the list as domestic airlines delayed 4,765 flights and cancelled 36 others in August 2026.
The NCAA made this revelation on Sunday in a post on its official X handle while giving its summary of domestic airline flight disruption operations for August.
According to the agency, the data indicated that 15 carriers, representing 59.9 per cent, operated 7,961 flights during the month, while roughly six in every 10 flights did not run on schedule.
The regulator disclosed that Air Peace operated the highest number of flights, 1,864, and recorded 1,330 delays, representing 71.4 per cent of its operations.
In its further summary, the NCAA stated that United Nigeria had the worst delay rate among the carriers, with 943 of its 1,231 flights delayed, stressing that the airline also cancelled eight flights, the highest in the month.
The agency noted that Enugu Air recorded 582 delays from 878 flights, with four cancellations.
About 2,801 of the delayed flights, according to the NCAA, were held up for between 16 minutes and one hour, while 1,322 were delayed for between one and two hours.
The regulator noted that another 407 flights were delayed for between two and three hours, while 235 were delayed for three hours and above, adding that Air Peace accounted for 108 of the 235 longest delays, followed by Enugu Air with 46 and United Nigeria with 41.
It commended Umza Air, saying it recorded the best performance, with 52 delays from 403 flights and no cancellations, adding that Xe Jet followed with 40 delays from 127 flights.
“Others were Aero with 246 delays from 469 flights, Arik 188 from 301, Ibom Air 254 from 560, Max Air 204 from 336, Rano Air 216 from 503, Value Jet 435 from 767, Green Africa 114 from 226, Overland 139 from 239 and Binani 22 from 57.
“NG Eagle recorded no operations during the period,” the NCAA said.
