Air Force kills eight terrorists in Borno

An airstrike carried out by the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai in Borno State, North-East Nigeria, resulted in the death of eight terrorists.
The Nigeria Air Force Director of Public Relations and Information, Air Cdre Edward Gabkwet, explained that the aircraft was conducting an armed reconnaissance mission on Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
During the mission, it targeted a gun truck carrying approximately eight terrorists in Baranga village, Marte local government area.
The airstrike was executed after two armed terrorists on a motorcycle were spotted and tracked to the location.
When the terrorists took cover under thick vegetation, the aircraft engaged them. At that point, a gun truck carrying eight terrorists emerged and attempted to escape the attack but was subsequently destroyed.
The statement emphasized that remaining terrorists in the North-East often seek refuge in dense forests and vegetation to avoid detection by the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies.
The airstrike demonstrates the commitment of the AFN to making it difficult for terrorists to move freely and attack law-abiding Nigerians.
