Again bandits attack Katsina communities, kill seven
Bandits have allegedly killed seven persons in another round of attacks in Kasai and Nahuta villages in Batsari Local Government Area of Katsina State.
Residents said the attacks were carried out Friday night when people in the two communities were about observing prayers.
A resident of a nearby community, Kurmiyal who identified himself as Sama’ila Lihidda, said the suspected bandits stormed the two communities on motorcycles, armed with weapons.
He said they were just shooting at every available object, adding that many residents escaped to the nearby communities while some passed the night inside the bush.
Lihidda revealed:
“Upon their arrival on motorcycles, the bandits armed with guns, opened fire, shooting indiscriminately at any available object. Many people fled to nearby communities while some slept inside the bush that night.
“In Kasai community alone, two persons were killed and five killed in N ahuta community with several others injured.”
The Spokesman for the Katsina Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, said he should be given time to clarify the development from the DPO, Batsari, and promised to get back.
