Despite scoring one goal in two appearances for Nigeria in the tournament, the 25-year-old has faced criticism for missing several clear-cut chances.

Contrary to the speculation linking his performance to the burden of his accolades, Osimhen dispelled the notion.

Emphasizing his team-oriented approach, Osimhen stated, “I don’t care about my individual performance. I could be on the bench and the other players get the job done.”
