Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has revealed that she welcomed a baby girl more than two years ago, sharing the news publicly for the first time on her birthday.
The actress made the announcement on Instagram, posting photographs of herself during pregnancy alongside a close-up image of her daughter’s hand.
In an emotional message, Adunni said she and her family deliberately kept the child’s birth private, choosing to enjoy the experience away from public attention.
“Today, on my birthday, I’m finally sharing what we’ve protected for over two years,” she wrote.
The actress described the period as a challenging but rewarding journey, saying it came with “silent battles” and moments that tested her strength.
According to her, the decision to keep the child away from public scrutiny was not because she owed anyone an explanation but because she valued peace and privacy.
“We chose privacy. Not because we owed anyone secrecy but because peace is priceless, and not everything good needs an audience. We wanted to enjoy our blessing,” she said.
Adunni also pushed back against assumptions that often surround women raising children outside public knowledge. She noted that not every single mother fits public stereotypes and that not every personal story is linked to controversy.
“Not every single mother fits your assumptions. Not every story is scandal. Not every blessing comes with drama attached,” she wrote.
The actress described her daughter, whom she referred to as Baby Sal, as an answered prayer and a blessing that came after a long wait.
“God gave me mine. Fully. Peacefully. Intentionally. A journey of almost a decade. Our baby girl, our answered prayer, my evidence that God still writes beautiful stories in His own time,” she said.
She added that while fans may know the public figure Adunni Ade, there is a private side of her life that many people may never fully understand.
“Adunni Ade online is one thing. Adunni Adewale at home is something you may never fully understand and that’s okay,” she wrote.
Addressing possible speculation surrounding the birth of her daughter, Adunni stressed that no family or relationship was disrupted in the process.
“No single home is or was broken in the making of our Baby Sal,” she wrote.
Adunni is already a mother to two sons, who are now young adults and have occasionally appeared in her social media posts. The actress has often spoken proudly about raising them and the close bond she shares with them.
The revelation has now shed light on a major chapter of her life that remained unknown to many of her followers. The actress ended her announcement on a hopeful note, wishing others the same joy she has experienced.
