Veteran Nigerian actor, Yemi Solade, has raised concerns over how some actresses in the Nigerian film industry are able to afford luxury vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon, suggesting that such purchases cannot be made from acting income alone.

Speaking during an interview on the Honest Bunch podcast, Solade asserted that Nollywood does not offer the kind of financial rewards that could support such high-end acquisitions without additional income sources.

“No actress can come out and say she bought her G-Wagon strictly from the money she made through acting,” Solade said.

“The earnings from Nollywood are not enough to cover such a luxury purchase. Acting alone cannot provide that kind of money unless the person has other sources of income or investments outside of movies.”

He emphasized that only those with alternative business ventures or income streams could realistically afford such expensive assets, questioning the narrative that acting is solely responsible for the financial lifestyle some actresses portray.

In a separate revelation, Solade also explained why he has not attended church in over a decade. He said his decision dates back to 2013, following an incident that left him disillusioned with how church affairs were being conducted.
