Nollywood star and social media influencer, Iyabo Ojo, has taken to her personal Instagram page to assert her preference for companionship over marriage.

Iyabo Ojo’s admission comes as popular comedian, Ayo Makun fondly called Ay Comedian and his wife of 20 years, Mabel Makun, announced their separation.

WuzupNigeria reported that AY, during the course of the week, admitted that his marriage of 20 years is slipping off his hands. Mabel, on Wednesday confirmed split, urging the public to respect her privacy and that of her “ex-husband” on the new path.

However, Iyabo Ojo, in her candid reflection, she highlights the importance of prioritizing personal happiness and encourages others to pursue what brings them joy. This sentiment resonates with the idea of embracing life’s journey and finding fulfilment in one’s own unique path.

Reacting, the actress said, “Never said I didn’t believe in marriage. I said I have done that character. It didn’t work for me and I don’t want to go that route again. I want to enjoy my life with my soul mate, It’s my choice, you can make yours.”

Iyabo Ojo further made it clear that she has experienced marriage before and is now prioritizing enjoyment in her current relationship.

Notably, the actress revealed her relationship with Paul Okoye during her 45th birthday celebration back in November 2022.
