Actor Tobi Makinde announces engagement to lover

Nollywood actor Tobi Makinde has announced his engagement to his longtime partner, marking the start of a new chapter in his life.

The actor, known for his role in Jenifa’s Diary, shared the happy news on his Instagram page, posting photos from his proposal. His fiancée was seen showing off her engagement ring, though Makinde kept her identity private by not revealing her face.

Makinde expressed excitement about his engagement, saying he was grateful for the journey ahead. He revealed that the proposal happened a few months ago and that his fiancée had said yes after he prayed and sought God’s guidance.

“Some months ago, the love of my life said YES to me, and I was most delighted,” he wrote. “I’m excited for this new journey that I’m about to embark on. Truthfully, it has always seemed very far-fetched, but just like every other big step I have taken in life, I sought God’s face, and trust me, He has always led me right.”

The actor, who is a protégé of filmmaker Funke Akindele, also shared a lighthearted moment from his proposal, saying he mistakenly bought a bigger ring size.

“I had only one job, which was to get a ring to fit perfectly, but I blew it and got a bigger size. Anyways, that has been sorted now. Na intention matter pass,” he joked.

He ended his post with excitement, writing, “I love you, my darling! I don finally commot for the ‘let the singles breathe group.’ Somebody shout hallelujah!”

The post drew several congratulatory messages from colleagues and fans.

Makinde’s announcement comes at a time when several Nigerian celebrities have also shared their engagement news, making it seem like, as fans say, “it’s raining engagements” in the entertainment industry.
