SARS officers extorted N464,000 from my mom after my unlawful arrest, man alleges
One Emmanuel Adegbite has accused officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of unlawfully arresting him while he was playing snooker in Ikorodu, Lagos State.
Adegbite claims that on 5 March 2019 the officers broke into Royal crown Hotel, Asolo, Ikorodu, and took him and some other people away.
They were taken to Ladegboye base, Ijede, where they were tortured for hours and threatened at gunpoint.
Emmanuel was, however, released after his mother was forced to give them N464, 000 for her son to be released to her alive.
She made the transfer from her Access bank account to an account the officers gave her.
The account the officers provided was a Pagatech account for a Bio-Integrated Global Resources with bank account number 3756479401.
