Corps members, others run for safety as gunmen invade polling unit in Rivers

National Youth Service Corps members working as ad hoc staff for INEC have escaped death after over gunmen reportedly invaded the stationed polling unit in Bonny local government, Rivers State.

They invaded the unit bearing dangerous weapons, shooting sporadically while carting away ballot boxes, looting and robbing electoral officers.

As at the time of this report, the unit is deserted as everyone has scampered for safety.
