Police surround INEC office in Rivers State, block entrance
Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have blocked the entrance of the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Rivers State.
Asides preventing entry into the commission’s state headquarters, a roadblock has also been mounted near the office.
It is not yet clear why security operatives are present at the Rivers headquarters.
A faction of the APC has already embarked on a protest against non-inclusion of their candidates on the ballots papers.
