Three women have been sentenced to two years in prison for attempting to sell a human being in Uyo.
The convicts – Emem Udo Etim Okon, Uduak Ekpeyong, and Imaobong Nyong – were sentenced by a Federal High Court sitting in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom capital.
WuzupNaija gathered that the women were nabbed by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
Prosecutors said the women’s action contravened sections 21 and 29 of the TIPPEA 2015.
The women were arraigned after being apprehended by the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP).
