Muslims in Nigeria and the rest of the world are celebrating Eid-el-Kabir today, September 12, 2016. It is one of the two most important festivals in the faith’s calendar.
The holy day symbolises Ibrahim’s willingness to sacrifice his son’s life as a testament to the strength of his faith. Many believers, who can afford it, would slaughter a ram to echo Ibrahim’s sacrifice. While those who can’t afford the money to kill an animal usually visit relatives, neighbours or friends that slaughter ram to celebrate Eid-el-Kabir.
Perhaps, that was the intention of soul singer, Timi Dakolo today when he stormed into his neighbour’s house, apparently uninvited, and asked for Sallah ram.
The singer did not only ask for ram meat to eat but also a take away ram.
