‘Drunk’ husband strapped to pole by furious neighbours after he ‘battered his wife and pushed her on stairs’
A man has been handed over to the police after he allegedly battered his wife and pushed her on the stairs.

The 45-year-old man, whose name was not given, was reported drunk when he committed the act near their home in Bahia, Brazil.
He was apprehended by angry neighbours who strapped him to a pole and detained him till the police came.
He allegedly left his wife, Maria Viana Santana Pereir, covered in cuts and bruises. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for her wounds.
The husband was also unbound and taken to the Jacobina police station, where he was charged and held in custody.
