Veteran Nollywood actress, Bimbo Akintola, is among the leading cast members of Five Figurines, an upcoming mystery-thriller scheduled to debut in cinemas across Nigeria on November 13, 2026.
Directed by Akay Mason, the film brings together an ensemble of established and emerging screen talents, including Ini Edo, Odunlade Adekola, Ireti Doyle, Mike Ezuruonye, Uche Montana and Chimezie Imo.
Other actors featured in the production are Wumi Toriola, Clinton Joshua, Chuks Joseph, Nkechi Blessing, Gbubemi Ejeye, Chinyere Wilfred and musician-turned-actor Ruggedman.
Built around themes of betrayal, ambition, jealousy and revenge, Five Figurines explores how concealed truths can threaten seemingly stable relationships and transform the lives of those involved.
The narrative revolves around five individuals whose closely guarded secrets become entangled, setting off a chain of events that exposes personal ambitions, romantic complications and carefully concealed motives. As tensions rise, the characters are forced to confront the consequences of their past decisions.
The film’s promotional tagline, “Vengeance is closer”, offers a glimpse into its central themes of retribution, buried histories and the pursuit of justice.
Akintola’s appearance on the promotional poster, depicting the actress in an emotionally charged, tearful moment, hints at the intensity of her role. The imagery suggests a character confronting overwhelming personal circumstances as the story’s underlying conflicts begin to unfold.
Rather than following the conventions of a conventional family or relationship drama, the production leans towards psychological suspense, using unexpected developments, emotional confrontations and revelations to sustain the mystery.
For Mason, Five Figurines represents a significant step in his filmmaking career, marking his first project as both director and producer under Element24 Media.
With its ensemble cast and interwoven storylines, the production is set to bring a suspense-driven narrative to Nigerian cinema audiences when it opens nationwide on November 13, 2026.
