Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has reached 100 Premier League appearances for Fulham, achieving the milestone during Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Ipswich Town.

According to The PUNCH, the Nigerian international played the entire match at Portman Road, recording his sixth league appearance of the season.

The 26-year-old became the 28th player to reach 100 Premier League appearances for Fulham and the second Nigerian to achieve the feat for the club.

His Super Eagles teammate Alex Iwobi previously reached the milestone and has recorded 103 league appearances for Fulham.

Bassey achieves milestone despite Fulham defeat

Bassey has registered three goals and one assist in his 100 Premier League matches, accumulating more than 8,400 minutes of playing time.

The defender joined Fulham from Ajax in July 2023 after earlier spells with Rangers and Leicester City’s academy.

However, his landmark appearance ended in disappointment as Fulham surrendered a second-half lead against Ipswich.

Ryan Sessegnon opened the scoring in the 55th minute, putting Fulham on course for their first league victory of the season.

Ipswich equalised through Abdoul Ouattara in the 88th minute before captain Dara O’Shea scored the winner in stoppage time.

The defeat left Fulham in the relegation zone with two points from six matches.

The result also increased pressure on manager Álvaro Arbeloa, who remains without a league victory.

Despite the setback, Bassey’s milestone reflects his growing experience in English football since joining the London club.
