The 78th Emmy Awards held in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with “Widow’s Bay,” “The Pitt” and “DTF St. Louis” emerging as the biggest winners of the night.
“Widow’s Bay” dominated the comedy categories, winning Outstanding Comedy Series alongside three major acting awards. The series also made history with a record 14 Emmy wins overall, the most ever for a comedy series in a single year.
“The Pitt” retained its Outstanding Drama Series title, while “DTF St. Louis” won Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series.
The ceremony was hosted by “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” star Mariska Hargitay at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
Matthew Rhys also made Emmy history by winning Lead Actor in both a comedy series, for “Widow’s Bay,” and a limited or anthology series or movie, for “The Beast in Me.”
