The national leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Seriake Dickson, has clarified that he does not belong to either the Obidient or Kwankwasiyya movement, insisting that his political affiliation is solely with the NDC.
Dickson made the clarification on Wednesday while appearing on Arise Television’s ‘Prime Time’, where he said the two movements have separate identities and remain free to operate independently.
According to him, however, the leaders of both movements are serving as the NDC’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates for the 2027 general election.
“I have held several meetings with them and even before now, we used to meet over the years. We have been colleagues and partners and friends. Sometimes in the same camp, in the same party, other times in different parties, but we’re always meeting and comparing notes.
“So it’s not strange working together on this. We have a partnership that is committed to winning the next elections, that is the most important thing.
“So at this point, we expect everyone to go to the field, make the case to the Nigerian people. There are no internal battles to fight in the NDC. The next stage of the battle strategically is to win the election,” he said.
