The film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (hereinafter “Spider-Man 4”) has crossed the $2 billion mark at the global box office, achieving the milestone just 17 days after its release.

According to Box Office Mojo, “Spider-Man 4” had accumulated worldwide earnings of $2,022.54 million (approximately 2.85 trillion won) as of the 18th.

The latest achievement makes it the second-fastest film to reach the $2 billion milestone, behind “Avengers: Endgame,” which accomplished the feat in just 11 days. It also becomes the eighth movie in history to surpass $2 billion in worldwide ticket sales.

The film’s strong performance has been particularly evident in the North American market. Its North American box office earnings have reached $800 million (approximately 1.12 trillion won), making it the fastest film ever released to reach that figure, doing so in 19 days.

Tom Holland, who reprises the lead role, is also expected to benefit significantly from the film’s commercial success. The Wrap reported that “Holland will receive over $100 million (approximately 139.9 billion won).”

The reported amount includes his initial salary as well as a backend guarantee. Media reports have put Holland’s base compensation at approximately $20 million, more than twice what he received for the previous installment.

Meanwhile, “Spider-Man 4” follows Peter Parker (played by Tom Holland), who has been forgotten by everyone and finds himself confronting a new threat.
