The official trailer for Jumanji: Open World has been released, confirming Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson’s comeback to the hit Disney adventure franchise.

In the newly unveiled trailer, Johnson reprises his role as Dr. Xander “Smolder” Bravestone, the powerful playable character from the Jumanji video game. However, the latest chapter takes the story beyond the game as Bravestone and other avatars mysteriously enter the real world, leaving everyone confused about how the crossover occurred.

The trailer also reveals that several human characters are pulled into the video game, with Janice, the mother of one of the central characters, taking on the role of Bravestone inside the virtual world.

Alongside Johnson, the upcoming film will feature the return of Karen Gillan, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart. The actors will once again portray the game avatars Ruby Roundhouse, Professor Oberon, and Franklin Finbar, respectively.

Jumanji: Open World is set to serve as the fifth and final entry in the Jumanji franchise, which first began in 1995 with the Robin Williams-starring original movie.

Johnson became part of the franchise with Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in 2017 and later returned as Dr. Bravestone in Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019.

The final instalment, Jumanji: Open World, is scheduled to arrive in cinemas across the United States on December 25, 2026.
