Three friends — Sunday Tajudeen, 21, Ismail Sarafa, 22, and Abdulamid Taiwo, 20 — were on Monday brought before the Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court over the alleged theft of railway bolts and nuts.
The defendants are facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutor Samuel Owolabi told the court that the alleged offence occurred on February 11 at about 2:00 p.m. in the Olodo area of Ibadan.
He said the trio unlawfully took two washer bolts and one nut valued at N10,000.
Owolabi further informed the court that the items were the property of the Nigerian Railway Corporation.
In her ruling, Magistrate Gladys Olanrewaju admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N20,000 each with one surety each in like sum.
She directed that the sureties must be the biological parents of the defendants and adjourned the case until March 9 for hearing.
