Nigerian music star Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, has found himself at the centre of fresh controversy after old tweets he posted in 2010 resurfaced on X, formerly Twitter.
The tweets, shared when Wizkid was 19, showed him making comments about meeting and feeling attracted to a 14-year-old girl.
The resurfaced posts emerged shortly after fellow artist Olamide recently described him as the greatest Afrobeats star.
In one of the old tweets, Banky W wrote: “So @wizkidayo likes this cute girl that came to say hi. Except she’s 14. I’ve told him EME no get rkelly money yet ohhhh.”
The revived tweets have sparked conversations online, coming just days after Paystack co-founder Ezra Olubi faced heavy criticism over his own recent social media posts.
