After several years of neglect, resulting in vigorous agitation by environmentalists and rights groups, the federal government has commenced work on cleaning up Ogoniland.
Minister of environment, Amina Mohammed led the federal government delegation to the devastated community.
It is victory at last for Ogoni people who have lost a lot of lives in the struggle for this cleanup. Ken Saro Wiwa was one of those who paid the ultimate price for the achievement of this feat.
