Ondo State Police Command have arrested a man for allegedly raping his teenage daughter repeatedly and getting her pregnant.
The Ondo State Police Command apprehended the suspect, identified as Oyewole Adamolekun, for sexually assaulting his 15-year-old daughter in Ajue, in the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.
According to police, the suspect also impregnated the victim.
A resident of the area reported the case on October 8, 2025 at the Enu-Owa Divisional Police Headquarters in Ondo town.
The resident alleged that the suspect had been having unlawful sexual relations with his daughter since she was only three years old.
The Ondo State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a statement released to journalists.
“Acting swiftly on the report, officers of the Division arrested the Suspect, while the victim was immediately taken to a medical facility where an ultrasound examination confirmed that she was 19 weeks and two days pregnant,” Ayanlade stated.
After the arrest, the girl was taken to a hospital for medical examination. The ultrasound showed that she was 19 weeks and 2 days pregnant.
During questioning by police, the suspect confessed to the crime he was accused of.
“During interrogation, the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime. He is currently in police custody, and the case has been transferred to the Command’s Gender Desk for diligent investigation and expedited prosecution,” Ayanlade said.
The police spokesperson noted that investigations into the incident are ongoing.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State, Adebowale Lawal, strongly condemned the act, describing it as criminal and morally reprehensible.
“He assured that the police would ensure that justice is served in the case with utmost urgency, professionalism, and precision,” Ayanlade stated.
The case has been referred to the Command’s Gender Desk, which handles cases of sexual abuse and gender-based violence.
The victim is receiving medical care and support as investigations continue.
