Police arraign Lagos NURTW chieftain over dispatch rider’s murder

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned Samsideen Oladiti, a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, popularly known as Shamelon, over his alleged involvement in the murder of a dispatch rider.

Oladiti appeared before Ebute Metta Magistrate Court 2 on Tuesday following his arrest on charges bordering on assault and murder.

According to a statement issued by the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, Babaseyi Oluseyi, the 55-year-old suspect allegedly attacked the dispatch rider on Lagos Island, using a helmet and his fists to inflict severe injuries.

The police noted that a separate complaint had previously been filed against Oladiti in connection with an incident that occurred on August 28, 2025.
