The National Examinations Council has announced the release of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination results.

NECO’s Acting Director of Public Affairs, Azeez Sani, confirmed the release in a statement on Wednesday after the Award Committee meeting held at the Council’s headquarters in Minna, Niger State.

A total of 179,201 students sat for the exam, which was conducted from May 12 to May 23 across 12 subjects.

Chairperson of the Award Committee, Dr Folake David of the Federal Ministry of Education, said she was satisfied with the conduct of the exam and the release process.

NECO also announced that a resit for the BECE will be held on July 23 and 24, 2025. The resit will cover Mathematics and English Studies, which are compulsory for entry into senior secondary school.

Schools and candidates have been advised to visit NECO’s official website or other approved platforms to check their results and find all information on the resit process.

The meeting had in attendance NECO officials and principals from across Nigeria. NECO said the move is part of efforts to keep its exam process transparent and credible.
