Nigerian Afrobeat sensation Crown Uzama, popularly known as Shallipopi, has released a fresh version of his hit track ‘Laho’ featuring Grammy-winning artiste Burna Boy.

The remix, titled ‘Laho II’, was unveiled by Shallipopi via Instagram in the early hours of Friday.

In this new rendition, Shallipopi showcases his distinctive Afrobeat flair by merging sharp lyrics with rhythmic beats, while Burna Boy infuses his signature vocal style to amplify the track’s appeal.

“Desperado, many many / My amigo, Balotelli / Ladies taking me photo (Confirm) / Paparazzi, ah / Don Julio, don dey high me / Ah, ah,” the lyrics read.

“Ghẹ gunmwẹn dẹ ọ, lahọ / Ni paste aza, lahọ / Aza mwẹ dry o, lahọ / Ye, ye-oh / Ghẹ gunmwẹn dẹ ọ, lahọ / Ni paste aza, lahọ / Aza mwẹ dry o, lahọ / Ye, ye-oh, lahọ / Ye, lahọ / Ye, ye-oh, lahọ / Ye, lahọ / Ye, ye-oh, lahọ /Ye.”

Shallipopi initially broke into the music scene in March 2023 with the release of his debut single ‘Elon Musk’.

In October of the same year, he launched his own record label, Plutomania Records, where he signed emerging acts Tega Boi and Zerrydl.

‘Laho’, originally released on February 21, marked Shallipopi’s first official single under his independent label. The release followed his exit from Dapper Music, a move linked to allegations of financial mismanagement.

Burna Boy, whose real name is Damini Ogulu, gained prominence with the release of ‘Like to Party’, the lead single from his 2013 debut album ‘L.I.F.E’. The Port Harcourt-born artist has since garnered international acclaim, notably winning the ‘Best World Music Album’ at the 2021 Grammy Awards for his project ‘Twice As Tall’.
