Newcastle United manager, Eddie Howe, has resumed work at the club after recovering from pneumonia that kept him away for weeks.
The Premier League side shared the news in a statement on Thursday, April 24, saying the 47-year-old is now back at the club’s training centre.
“Newcastle United are delighted to confirm that Eddie Howe has returned to his duties at the club’s training centre,” the club said.
“Eddie had recently been hospitalised with pneumonia and has now returned to work after a period of recovery. We thank supporters for their warm wishes.”
Howe missed three important league matches — against Manchester United, Crystal Palace, and Aston Villa — during his illness.
In his absence, assistant manager Jason Tindall took charge of the team. Newcastle recorded big wins over Manchester United and Crystal Palace but were heavily defeated by Aston Villa.
The club is currently in fifth place on the Premier League table and recently won the League Cup. They are now preparing for their next match against Ipswich on Saturday, as they fight to qualify for the UEFA Champions League next season.
The top five teams in the league will secure Champions League spots. Liverpool are leading the table, while Arsenal are close behind. The race for the remaining top spots remains tight, with just a few points separating the teams.
