The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, from N890 to N825 per litre.

This change will take effect on Thursday, February 27, 2025.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Head of Media Relations and Branding Communications at Dangote Group, Esan Sunday, explained that the price adjustment aims to provide relief to Nigerians as the Ramadan season approaches.

“This strategic price adjustment is designed to provide essential relief to Nigerians in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season, while also supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policy by alleviating the financial burden on the Nigerian populace,” the statement read.

The refinery also noted that this is the second time in February 2025 that it has reduced the price of petrol, following an earlier N60 cut at the start of the month.

According to Dangote, Nigerians will now be able to buy petrol at the following prices at MRS Holdings stations, its retail partner:
– N860 per litre in Lagos
– N870 per litre in the South-West
– N880 per litre in the North
– N890 per litre in the South-South and South-East

The statement further highlighted that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has remained committed to lowering fuel prices for the benefit of Nigerians.

“It is important to note that Dangote Petroleum Refinery has consistently lowered the prices of petrol and other refined petroleum products to the benefit of Nigerians,” the statement added.

In December 2024, the refinery reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, bringing it down from N970 to N899.50 per litre.

Meanwhile, the refinery also warned Nigerians to be cautious of any cheaper imported petrol, stating that such products may be substandard.
