The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects involved in the brutal torture of a female employee at Don Meserati Classic Boutique in Lagos.
The woman was accused of theft and assaulted in a manner that has sparked widespread condemnation.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrests on Monday. He also assured the public that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the remaining suspects and locate the victim.
“Three suspects have been arrested, while efforts are on to apprehend other suspects and establish contact with the victim. The Commissioner of Police, CP Olanrewaju Ishola, assures Lagosians that justice will be served,” Hundeyin stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
The incident came to light after a disturbing video went viral on social media, showing a group of men viciously flogging the female employee as she rolled on the ground in pain. It was reported that the assault occurred on the orders of the boutique’s owner.
