Police rescue missing girl, arrest suspects in Ogun

The Ogun State Police Command has successfully rescued a 12-year-old girl who went missing in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, during a covert operation led by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, announced the operation in a statement released on Sunday in Abeokuta.

Odutola revealed that the rescue, directed by the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, was carried out in Ayetoro, Ogun State, and led to the arrest of all suspects connected to the case.

“Through a swift covert operation by the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, the missing girl from Ota was found in Ayetoro, Ogun State, by the Anti-Kidnapping team, and all suspects have been arrested,” the statement read.

The police explained that the operation was based on intelligence-driven efforts, emphasizing the promptness and efficiency of the team.

Further details about the operation, the suspects, and the circumstances surrounding the abduction will be provided during a press briefing scheduled for today by Commissioner Ogunlowo.

The police have urged the public to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies.
