First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed her deep sympathy to the governor of Jigawa State, Mallam Umar Namadi, following the tragic petrol tanker explosion in Majiya Villa, Taura Local Government Area.
The explosion, which happened on Wednesday, claimed over 100 lives, left many injured, and caused severe property damage.
In her condolence message, which was shared with journalists from the State House in Abuja, the First Lady called the incident “most unfortunate” and prayed for God to give strength to the families of those who lost their lives. She also prayed for the quick recovery of those injured in the explosion and asked for Allah’s mercy on the departed.
“I condole with the Governor of Jigawa State, His Excellency, Mallam Umar Namadi, and the good people of the State on the unfortunate tanker explosion which occurred on Wednesday, 16th October 2024,” she said. “My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. I pray to God to grant the friends, families, and loved ones of the departed souls the fortitude to bear the painful loss and grant speedy recovery to the injured.”
The First Lady concluded by praying, “May Almighty Allah grant Aljanah Fridaus to the departed and comfort all those affected by this tragedy.”
