Troops from the 6 Brigade Nigerian Army and Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested three suspected bandits and one logistics supplier linked to terrorist activities in Taraba State.

The arrests took place after a tip-off led to a special operation on October 7, 2024, in the Andemin area of Karim Lamido Local Government Area. The operation targeted Jeb-Jeb, a border community between Taraba and Plateau States.

In a statement, Captain Olubodunde Oni, Acting Assistant Director of 6 Brigade Army Public Relations, said, “The bandits were identified as Adamu Abubakar, Mohammed Bello, and Musa Adamu. They are believed to be responsible for several criminal activities, including armed robberies, kidnappings, and violent assaults on communities in the area.”

The operation is part of the 6 Brigade’s efforts to combat rising interstate criminality. Captain Oni added, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects have been active in the state for several years. Investigation is in progress to apprehend other members of the criminal syndicate.”

In a separate operation in Bunka village of Lau LGA, troops arrested Musa Inusa, a key logistics supplier for a notorious terrorist group in Taraba. He is suspected of providing essential supplies and materials to the terrorists.

Items recovered from Inusa included a knife, N2,460 in cash, and wraps of a substance believed to be Indian hemp along with other illicit drugs. The army stated, “His arrest is expected to disrupt the supply chain and further weaken the operational capabilities of the group.”

Investigation is ongoing to assess Inusa’s full involvement with criminals and terrorists in the area.

The 6 Brigade assured the public that the fight against banditry and terrorism will continue vigorously.

Citizens are encouraged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to law enforcement agencies.
