The family of late gospel singer Aduke Ajayi, widely known as Aduke Gold, has confirmed that she passed away from cervical cancer.
Aduke Gold died on Monday, August 12, 2024, at the University College Hospital in Ibadan.
Her sudden death triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with fans and fellow artists mourning her loss.
Following her passing, rumors surfaced that she had died during fibroid surgery.
However, in response to these speculations, her brother, Pastor Ajayi Aderogbo, released a statement in a video making rounds on social media to clarify the situation.
Pastor Ajayi refuted the claims of fibroid surgery, confirming that Aduke Gold’s death was due to cervical cancer. He also urged the public to verify information before spreading it, to prevent the circulation of false news.
“Whoever is spreading misinformation should stop it. Our daughter was ill with cervical cancer. She was taken to UCH in Ibadan, and unfortunately, she passed away. The information being circulated is false,” Pastor Ajayi stated.
