Social commentator Very Dark Man has been released from prison, according to a statement from social activist Sowore.

Very Dark Man had been in prison for the past few days before his release. Conspiracy theories emerged, with some suggesting that Very Dark Man’s extended stay in prison was due to his outspoken criticism of top police officials. Before his arrest, Very Dark Man had made allegations against the Deputy Inspector General (D.I.G) of police and others, claiming they were involved in illicit activities.

However, Sowore posted on his social media page about the realease of Very Dark Man “Good news @thatverydarkman is now free on Easter Sunday! Thanks for all your efforts to ensure oppression will not always win”

The controversy surrounding Very Dark Man began with Bobrisky, who claimed that lawmakers were involved in illicit affairs with him, suggesting this was why he enjoyed immunity from the police and armed forces.

Very Dark Man engaged in a public dispute with Bobrisky, leading to him eventually apologizing, which Bobrisky rejected. Shortly after the altercation, Very Dark Man was arrested, initially leading many to believe Bobrisky was behind it, but it was later revealed that Tonto Dikeh played a role.

As a social commentator, Very Dark Man has made enemies along the way, with Blessing CEO being one of the most prominent. Upon news of his arrest, she openly celebrated and mocked him. Bobrisky also joined in, jokingly offering to send him guinea fowl and garri while in prison.

During Very Dark Man’s arrest, Tonto Dikeh faced public backlash for her involvement, though she remained silent in the face of criticism from Very Dark Man’s supporters.
