A baby in Ohio named Jailyn has died after his mother had left him alone in the playpen to go for a 10-day summer trip.

According to CNN,it was reported that the mother of Jailyn,Kristel Candelario had left him in the playpen with just a few bottles of milk to go on a vacation with a male friend.

“A neighbor’s doorbell camera captured the 16 months old’s frequent screams including one around 1:00am two days after the mother left him”, the prosecutors said in court.

She was reported to have returned on June 16,2023, ten days after she had gone to meet her daughter’s dead body.

Candelario pleaded guilty last month to one count of aggravated murder and one count of child endangering.

Police Sergeant Teresa Gomez who fought back her tears as she described the baby’s condition saying “This is a case that we have all branded in our hearts forever”

Candelario’s parent pleaded with the court saying that the court should be merciful with their pronouncement that their daughter had health struggles including mental illness and fainting spells.

A judge on Monday this week sentenced her to lifein prison,marking a final chapter to the case describing the case as an ultimate act of betrayal
